Tecta America West Florida completed a new construction roofing project at the Pinellas County Schools Leadership Center in Largo, Florida, in July 2025. The project incorporated a 2-ply SBS torch-applied assembly and a liquid-applied membrane solution tailored to different building sections. On main areas, crews installed polyiso insulation systems, including tapered configurations for drainage, a gypsum cover board and a Johns Manville SBS modified roofing system.
The scope also included flashing at parapets, penetrations, and rooftop equipment, as well as installation of walk pads, a roof hatch system, and aluminum coping. Select architectural features, including sloped concrete eyebrow roofs, were finished with a Sikalastic Roof Pro 20 liquid-applied membrane system. This multi-system approach supported both performance and design requirements, while also accommodating a building-integrated solar installation completed after the roofing work.
