Illinois Roofing, a Tecta America company, completed storm recovery and reroofing work at 3601 Chicago Rd. in Steger, IL in 2025 after an F1 tornado tore off approximately 59,000 square feet of a secondary metal roof on a storage facility under construction, with debris blown onto nearby train tracks. Crews mobilized the following morning to remove remaining damaged roofing, insulation, and framing, including an additional 15,000 square feet of compromised roof area. Work required navigating deteriorated decking and multiple roof openings while cleaning and preparing the structure. After repairs to the structural deck, a new TPO membrane roof system was installed. The project was completed safely with no injuries, allowing the facility to open on schedule.
