PLOVER, WI, UNITED STATES, April 1, 2026 — Commercial Roofing, a Tecta America Company, is celebrating 50 years of service to commercial, industrial and institutional customers across Wisconsin. Founded in 1976 and headquartered in Plover, the company marks the milestone by honoring its legacy of craftsmanship, safety and responsive service while continuing to support customers with dependable roofing solutions.
“Fifty years is a testament to the foundation that was set in place by founder Wayne Herzog, and carried on by Shawn Herzog and Theresa Dobbe. To have a company entering its 50th year in business means we’ve always done things the right way and taken care of our employees and customers. The way we approach each roofing project and service call will never change—from start to finish we strive to exceed the customer’s expectations and provide an exceptional experience,” said Nick Volhard, president of Commercial Roofing.
Over the decades, Commercial Roofing has supported a wide range of customer needs, from new construction and replacement projects to leak repair and service. The company also provides preventive maintenance and roof asset management programs designed to help building owners extend roof life and plan proactively. Additional services include architectural sheet metal and roof restoration solutions, such as coatings.
In fall of 2019, Commercial Roofing was acquired by Tecta America, strengthening its ability to serve customers with added resources while maintaining local expertise and relationships. Following the acquisition, longtime leader Shawn Herzog retired in 2022, and Nick Volhard stepped into the President role. Theresa Dobbe retired in 2025.

Today, Commercial Roofing employs approximately 15 people, operating one production crew and two dedicated service crews. The team includes four employees with more than 20 years of tenure, with many others serving 5 to 10 years.
The company expects to recognize its 50th anniversary throughout 2026 with activities focused on employees and customers while continuing to prioritize preventive maintenance, leak repair and replacement solutions that help building owners protect and plan for their facilities.
Notable recent work includes the Food + Farm Exploration Center in Plover, Wisconsin, where the company completed roofing and pedestal paver system installation totaling more than 40,000 square feet.
