Empire Roofing, a Tecta America company, completed a 216,600-square-foot re-roof for the Sewell BMW facility in Plano, Texas. The project began in October 2022 and finished in June 2023.
The team removed the existing roof and installed two layers of 2.6-inch polyiso insulation to reach an R-30 value. They mechanically fastened the insulation and a ½-inch HD ISO cover board to the metal deck. They also installed tapered insulation crickets between drains and sumps to improve drainage.
The team installed an 80-mil white fleece-backed TPO membrane and mechanically attached it to the deck with fasteners and plates.
The system meets wind uplift requirements and provides long-term durability for the facility.
