PROJECT DETAILS
In 2013, a hail storm hit the region and damaged the property at Amarillo College. Tecta America Amarillo was called to inspect the damage and provide expertise on necessary repairs.
The project consisted of the complete removal & replacement of roof systems on 8 different buildings. This included the complete removal of and replacement of metal roof panels, TPO retrofit over metal roof panels, and removal & replacement of modified bitumen roofing.
The new roofing systems utilized are comprised of GAF products. All sheet metal flashing and trims are custom shop fabricated from Peterson Aluminum.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
This was on a functioning college campus and Tecta America Amarillo followed strict compliance with all rules and access to the buildings and the overall procedures of daily operations on the campus. “We had to stage our work so as not to block egress in/out of buildings,” said Tracy Honea, President of Tecta America Amarillo.
Access to the buildings was limited, so additional safety measures were installed to keep all student/pedestrian traffic clear of the work zones.
