PROJECT DETAILS

The Mill Artisan District project is a $30 million project in Schenectady, NY which features Frog Alley Brewing along with a pizzeria, bakery, 74 apartments, and top-floor office space for a local tech company. It is a major economic driver in an area that has seen significant redevelopment in recent years, and Tecta America WeatherGuard was the commercial roofer on this two-year project.

The team began by installing approximately 40,000 sq. ft. of Johns Manville adhered TPO roof system with a 20-year warranty, which was challenging because there were multiple layers, existing substrates, and new areas. General Manager Mike Bisner and his experienced crew were involved from the very beginning of this project, starting with the removal of the building’s original roof to allow for construction of an additional floor. Mike said, “It has been very rewarding seeing the space transform into something special. They have changed an entire city block, corner to corner.”

Tecta America WeatherGuard also shop fabricated flat seam panels and installed 35 columns of metal siding on the facade with radius flat seam on the cornerstone of the building.
