ABOUT THE SPACE NEEDLE

The Space Needle is an observation tower in Seattle, Washington, a landmark of the Pacific Northwest, and an icon of Seattle. It was built in the Seattle Center for the 1962 World’s Fair, which drew over 2.3 million visitors, when nearly 20,000 people a day used its elevators.

Once the tallest structure west of the Mississippi River,[7] it is 605 ft.  high, 138 ft. wide, and weighs 9,550 tons. It is built to withstand winds of up to 200 miles per hour and earthquakes of up to 9.1 magnitude, as strong as the 1700 Cascadia earthquake. It also has 25 lightning rods.

PROJECT DETAILS

Tecta America Seattle were one of only three companies asked to bid on a trench drain repair and price was the main factor. We were selected and used Geogard feeling it was the best option for the job.

After completing the gutter and concrete repairs the added repairs were around all other curbs and pipe penetrations. These were a concern to the concrete repairs we had completed.

We were invited back to complete the rest of the field and to install a Space Needle white color coating. We inspected the coating we installed and were happy to see the way it was performing. We did have to add a seal to the old paint and were worried about the compatibility with the old paint until we could complete the coating and see the results.[stm_project_details style=”style_2″ title=”PROJECT DETAILS” css=”.vc_custom_1428651906989{margin-bottom: 41px !important;}”][stm_project_details_item label=”Operating Unit:” value=”Tecta America Seattle”][stm_project_details_item label=”Client:” value=”Space Needle”][stm_project_details_item label=”Industry Type:” value=”Entertainment”][stm_project_details_item label=”Project Type:” value=”General Repair”][stm_project_details_item label=”Location:” value=”Seattle, WA”][stm_project_details_item label=”Square Footage:” value=”700″][stm_project_details_item label=”Systems Installed:” value=”Fluid Applied Roofing/Coatings”][/stm_project_details][stm_contacts_widget title=”CONTACT INFO” address=”9500 Aurora Avenue North Seattle, WA 98103″ phone=”206-522-5436″ email=”info.seattle@tectaamerica.com” fax=”206-522-5472″]
