Luke AFB F35 Academic Training Center (ATC)

PROJECT DETAILS

This project was a new construction project with specifications furnished by the Corp of Engineers.

The specifications called for concrete to be poured over a metal form deck (by others) and then for Tecta America to install a full tapered polyisocyanurate insulation system in hot asphalt and then a layer of ½ inch Securock installed over the insulation in hot asphalt and a 60 mil Johns Manville PVC membrane fully adhered to the insulation. The work was coordinated with mechanical contractors, electrical contractors, steel erectors, and others.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

The building was constructed next to an active runway, meaning it was imperative to keep the job site clear of any debris. Any trash blown onto the runway would be catastrophic to the air force base.
