How Does It Work?
Specialized light pipes funnel natural light from large, plastic bubbles on the roof through highly reflective, broad pipes to the building interior.  On overcast days and other times when light is less available, the daylighting system’s light sensors turn on high-efficiency fluorescent light fixtures, which use half the electricity of the more common high intensity discharge lights.  The units are self-contained, require no external power, and comply with the Uniform Building Code’s AC-16 Standard for plastic skylights.
