ABOUT HEIDELBURG DISTRIBUTION

Heidelberg Distributing is a family-owned and operated company that markets and delivers beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcohol beverages to retailers in Ohio and Kentucky. Products on Heidelberg trucks come from local suppliers and from suppliers all over the U.S. and the world

FROM “ONE MAN, ONE TRUCK,” HEIDELBURG HAS GROWN TO:

Nine warehouse and office facilities located in Cincinnati (two companies), Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Lorain, Toledo, Youngstown, and northern Kentucky

PROJECT DETAILS

The project included 1020 squares of roof restoration and gravel in cold adhesive, repairs to three bays, and for a new façade, clear story, and added penetrations. At one point, roofing crews worked eight days straight removing a total of 1210 squares.

During roof removal, there were 45-50 men working on two roofing crews and one material supply crew. The use of 10 temporary workers helped offset the costs of travel.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

Safety was a major concern on the project due to the fact that 50 men began their workday at 5 a.m. and worked around 300 skylights. To face this challenge Tecta Atlanta built skylight covers over all skylights in the work zone to allow for safe access. In addition, 7 large light stands were rented in conjunction with existing project lighting to turn night into day.
