Green Roof Systems

TectaGreen is not a one-size-fits-all solution. We take a consultative approach to the needs of your building and your business, and develop a sustainable package for your roof. Our horticulturists and roof technicians take into account structural concerns, slope, penetrations and usage needs of the roof to make sure your system is watertight.

Extensive

A lightweight green roof that is primarily implemented for environmental and economic purposes. This system is comprised of organic and inorganic growth media and specially selected hardy, low-maintenance plants. When fully saturated, an extensive green roof typically adds a weight of only 16-35 lbs/sq. ft. Ongoing care is minimal, involving weeding and membrane and structural inspections.

Intensive & Semi-Intensive

An intensive green roof is usually specified when the green roof goals are aesthetic, and not only economic in nature. It allows for a wider variety of plants like shrubs and trees, and requires a deeper growth media which will increase weight and structural requirements. As a result, maintenance requirements are more demanding.

Semi-intensive—a simpler, economical option—utilizes a range of plants in moderate soil depth.

TectaGreen Modular

Because this system is removable, it offers the owner unmatched security, making it more practical and economical for smaller projects like terraces or in residential applications.

The 2’ x 2’ modular dimensions make for easy transition from pavers to vegetation to design. And its simple design allows for a customer to request either pre-planted modules or modules that are installed and filled on-site. Unique in its ability to retain large amounts of water, the TectaGreen Modular will help manage storm water runoff.
