Every roof is unique, which is why our horticulturists select and approve plants based on a number of criteria specific to your location: winter hardiness, heat zone, soil depth, ecological diversity, irrigation limitations and budget.

Because of the limited growing media depth of an extensive roof, successful plants are often limited to succulents like sedum and delosperma.

For unique climates such as Florida and Texas, our designs and installations are focused around drought-tolerant herbaceous plants.

With deeper soil, or varying depths of soil, the semi-intensive roofs often blend the succulents with taller naturalized grasses, vines and herbaceous material.
