Tecta America Zero Company was awarded third place for its terrific work on a terrace roof at The Summit Hotel, in Cincinnati, OH.

Located less than 10 miles from downtown Cincinnati, The Summit is set to usher in a new era of style in the Queen City. The anchor of a $124 million mixed-use project, this 239 room hotel is an artful, inspiring setting.

The terrace acts as a beacon or hotel guests and features a unique layout of patio pavers and extensive green roof areas trimmed with berms and seat walls, providing accents to the already intricate design.

Tecta America Zero installed loose laid 60 mil Sarnafil G 476 waterproofing membrane paired with 3811R drainage mat was installed for the vegetative roof areas, and the same membrane was used for the seat walls. On the remaining terrace areas, 60 mil Sarnafil G410 membrane was utilized.

Before the project even began, Tecta’s estimators were faced with the challenge of finding a way to make the design a reality while sticking to the budget. This was achieved by using extensive green roof areas in place of the original combination of intensive and comprehensive, which saved money but did not alter the architect’s vision.

The Summit is now faced with on big problem: because of its gorgeous terrace roof, guests may never want to check out.
